While looking for a home to purchase in the fall of 1984, Mary Lou and I visited Punta Gorda for the first time. In the past twenty years we had spent a fair amount of time visiting Florida, but we still couldnīt make up out minds where we wanted to locate. So we decided to spend a couple weeks searching for a place that would suit us best. We started in the Keys and worked our way up through the West Coast. We arrived in Punta Gorda late one evening after driving up from Ft. Myers and spent the night in a local inn. The next morning we met Gene Hamilton at his office in town. He impressed us with his overall knowledge of the area. His knowledge of the local waters and canal systems was particularly impressive. He knew which locations were best suited for our particular budget and boating needs. We bought our first Florida home from Gene on that trip which was the start of a long and trusted relationship, not only for us but also for many of our friends and relatives who subsequently bought and sold homes and other real-estate through Gene.
Over the years Gene has help us buy and sell numerous properties. The transactions were all handled smoothly and professionally.
His latest sale for us was an up scale home in PGI just this August. He listed, showed, sold and closed the transaction in his usual professional way.
